Goose Walk
A cool Fall Day with a descending sun and rain on the horizon found me walking my two poodles around an unfamiliar suburban medical center in Beaverton, Oregon. Orange and red leaves lined the sidewalks surrounding grassy slopes which led to a small berm parallelling a busy road. It looked like a safe place for the dogs to poop, so I headed toward it when something moved. There, a group of Canada Goose eyed me nervously, slowly drifting away hoping to avoid taking flight. I broke off my approach, watching the large, adult fowl own the mound with a confident dignity. I took a few photographs and let them be.
